World River Day Celebration
On September 24, 2024, the N.C.C. Cadets of Sacred Heart Girls' High School proudly organized a lake cleaning initiative at Ashraya Lake, located in Malleshpalya, Kaggadasapura, Bangalore, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This event was a key component of the SSCD initiative, designed to foster awareness and action around environmental conservation and civic responsibility.
The cadets engaged in various activities, including collecting litter and debris from the lake area, which not only beautified the surroundings but also contributed to the health of the local ecosystem. Their efforts aimed to raise awareness about the significance of protecting water bodies and the role they play in sustaining biodiversity.
This year's theme, "Preserving Rivers, Protecting Life," highlighted the crucial role rivers play in sustaining life on Earth.
This initiative not only demonstrated the cadets' commitment to environmental stewardship but also served as an educational platform for the community. Participants learned about the challenges facing rivers and lakes and the collective responsibility we share in preserving these vital resources. The event concluded with a discussion on sustainable practices and the importance of ongoing efforts to protect our natural environments, reinforcing the message of World River Day. We commit to continued efforts to preserve rivers, ensuring a healthier planet.
